Porto – it is the second largest city, from which the Latin name Portus Cale was the name of the country. The city has about 240,000 inhabitants, 1.5 million in the greater area of Porto.

1st Day

Athens – Lisbon – Fatima – Coimbra

Meeting at the airport and direct flight to Lisbon. Arriving in Lisbon and departing by road for Coimbra the first Campus of Portugal and one of the oldest in the world. Our first stop is the great center of Catholicism, Fatima, located 142 km north of Lisbon. Fatima took its name from the appearance of Virgin Mary in 1917 to three farmer children in the “Cova Da Iria“ valley and since then has emerged as the world's largest pilgrimage site. Arriving in Coimbra where we will go to the university and the streets of the poet's city with its crowded river Montego will also be found in the courtyard area of ​​the church of Santa Clara La Nova where we will have panoramic views from across the city of Coimbra. Check in at our hotel. Overnight.

2nd Day

Coimbra – Bussaco – Aveiro – Porto

After breakfast depart for Porto. Our first stop is in the Bussaco forest, the Portuguese national forest and one of Europe's richest in plants. On our way we will take a stop in the city of canals, “Venice of Portugal” in Aveiro, where we will admire the boats that look like traditional gondolas of Venice. Then depart for Porto a city that represents the tradition, the human values, the hard work and the power of the soul of the Portuguese nation. The city also gave its name to the famous “Porto” wine produced from the cultivation of varieties of grape vines after the guidance of a British community developed in the port of the city. Overnight.

3rd Day

Porto

After breakfast, we will take a tour of the impressive city that is built on the banks of the Douro River and harmoniously spreading into the hills, still preserving its medieval view. In the Ribeira region, along the river, the old quarters with the many traditional shops and the open market located on the quay, where they previously loaded the homonymous wine into the characteristic boats, extends along the river. In the upper city, we will take a tour in the Cathedral area and the old railway building. Then we will visit the golden church of Saint Francis and the Bolsa Palace, home to the Chamber of Commerce and formerly the stock market. Finally, we will visit an old winery in the city, where for many years the famous “PORTO” wine matures and we will have the pleasure of tasting in the specially made “calice” glass with its wonderful flavor and its rich aroma. 4th Day

Porto – Braga – Guimaraes

After breakfast we depart for a day trip to the province of Miniu. The first stop of our journey will be Braga where we will admire the cathedral and the sanctuary of Jesus showing important Baroque-style samples. Then we will visit Guimaraes the cradle of the Portugal nation, which was the first capital of Portugal. It is the birthplace of the Portuguese nationality as well as the city where the first king of Portugal was born «Alfonso A». We will see the castle of the region and the historical center, which are Unesco monuments of historical heritage. Return to Porto. Overnight.

5th Day

Porto – Batalha – Nazare – Obidos – Lisbon

Departure in the morning to Lisbon. Our first station is the temple of Batalha, a Unesco World Heritage Site. Then we will go to the tourist fishing village of Nazareth. An experience that will remain unforgettable due to the warmth and liveliness you will receive from its inhabitants as well as the unique feeling that creates a small village that is impregnated with tradition and where we will have the chance to taste the local cuisine. Finally we will also visit the beautiful medieval village of the artists of Obidos. We walk in narrow streets between white houses decorated with colorful flowers and enjoy a panoramic view of the 13 m high walls surrounding the village. Arriving late in the afternoon in Lisbon and arranging at the hotel. Overnight.

6th Day

Lisbon

Today's tour is dedicated to the picturesque and hospitable city, which, despite the persistent raids of the Barbarian peoples for many centuries, still maintains its Latin glorious character. One of the most famous sights of the city and probably the most beautiful and elaborate in the world is the Museum of the Royal Carriages, where we will admire a unique collection of luxury and wealth dating back to the 17th and 19th centuries. We will visit the Hieronymus Monastery, the most impressive symbol of Portuguese power and wealth, built in 1502 on the orders of King Manuel I to commemorate Vasco da Gama's memory for his successful return from India. Finally, we will visit the Monument to the Discoveries as well as the characteristic Belem Tower, from where the Portuguese sailors started for the ends of the earth. This famous tower, which looks more like a tiny castle, was built in 1515 near the shores of the Tejo River to protect the estuary of the river and has been designated by Unesco as a World Heritage Site. In the evening, we suggest you enjoy the traditional Portuguese fado songs that have been popularized all over the world by renowned singer Amalia Rodriguez. Return to the hotel. Overnight.

7th Day

Lisbon – Sintra – Cascais – Estoril – Cabo da Roca – Park of Nations

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for a very enjoyable excursion in the outskirts of Lisbon, Sintra summer residence of the kings, Cascais is a beautiful fishing village, Estoril the tourist resort of Portugal and Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of the European continent and Portugal in the Atlantic Ocean. Return to Lisbon where we will end our current excursion to the Park of Nations, which was built for the International Exhibition Expo 1998 from where we can admire the bridge Vasco da Gama. In the same park there is the Oceanario Lisbon aquarium. Overnight.

8th Day

Lisbon – Athens

Today is our last day in the capital of Portugal. Full memories fly back to Greece. Arrival in Athens.
