Florence

Florence is city of Italy, the capital of the Tuscan region and the province of the same name. From 1865 to 1870 it was the capital of the Kingdom of Italy. The city is located on the Arno River and has about 400.000 inhabitants called the Florentines. Center of Commerce in the Middle Ages, Florence was ruled by the Medici family. It is considered the cradle of the Italian Renaissance and is known for its artistic treasures. The historic city center has been declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco.

1

1st Day

Athens – Rome – Florence

Meeting at Eleftherios Venizelos airport and direct flight to Rome airport. Arrival and boarding the train to the picturesque capital of Tuscany, Florence. Accommodation at the hotel. In the afternoon time available to get to know the city with a great history and renaissance and with the river Arno crossing it from one end to the other.

2nd Day

Florence (guided tour)

Breakfast and meeting with the Greek-speaking guide, to get to know the historic city that is justly under the protection of Unesco. We will see the majestic Duomo with its famous Giotto bell tower, the Baptistery – Roman architecture with bronze doors and mosaics – the Basilica of Santa Croce, the Piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio, which are some of Florence's artworks. Afternoon free. Visit the Uffizi Gallery with paintings by Botticelli, Raphael, Donatello, Leonardo da Vinci or the Palazzo Pitti, or simply enjoy a stroll in the Porcellino outdoor market, where you will find typical Florentine straws, handmade embroidery. In the evening, visit one of the city's restaurants to taste fine meat and pasta cooked with basic ingredients of Tuscan cuisine.

3rd Day

Florence (optional excursion to Siena & San Gimignano)

Breakfast and free day. We suggest you (individual cost) excursion to Siena and San Gimignano a rural area with picturesque landscapes. In Siena, stroll through the medieval streets, which they divide the city into 17 regions and each one of them is symbolized by an animal, while in the fairytale castle–village of San Gimignano admire its dozens of towers, where from their loopholes you gaze at the endless vineyards and olive groves in the plains of Tuscany.

4th Day

Florence – Rome – Athens

After breakfast, check out of the rooms and boarding on the train for return to Rome airport and then flight to Athens.
