Prague
The “golden city,” as it is often called Prague, is the capital and largest city in the Czech Republic. Built on the Vltava River, Prague was fortunate to stay almost unnatural from the two world wars, making it a diamond from the past. The history of the city began in 200 AD. when inhabited by Celtic tribes. In recent years, Prague has experienced explosive growth and today it is a major economic, cultural and tourist center. The Czechs are peaceful people and are distinguished for their hospitality and the prices you will meet in Prague, although significantly higher than in the past, are moving at reasonable levels. Prague is an important destination for the Greeks, resulting in the large and central restaurants and cafes being able to find the catalogs in Greek language.

1
1st Day
Athens – Prague (old town guided tour)
Meeting at Athens airport and flight to Prague. Arriving in the “Golden City” where we will meet our local guide, boarding the bus and touring begins with “Small Place” (Malá Strána), one of the oldest historical districts in Prague. Then we will walk from the Charles scenic gothic bridge through the medieval streets of the “Royal Road” to the Old Town Square, the Town Hall and the famous astronomical clock and the parade of the Apostles as well as the square of the historical center of Prague. After the tour we will be transferred to our hotel. For the evening, we suggest enjoying yourself at Czech beer halls or at Christmas musical events.2
2nd Day
Prague – Castle-City Tour – Mala Strana – Charles Bridge
Breakfast at the hotel and our tour starts with the Strahov monastery and the Loretto, two of the most important monuments in Prague, then we head to the magnificent castle-city, which stretches over the hill of Mala Strana and we end up at the imposing St. Vitus Cathedral and the chapel of St. Wenceslas, patron saint of the country, the church of St. George, the palaces where the Dukes and Kings of Bohemia lived, the Daliborka tower and the «Golden Alley» which in the 16th and 17th century was the seat of the alchemists. The alley consists of small colorful houses, which were repainted in bright colors in the 1950s. Many of the houses are now souvenir shops and there is a medieval arsenal museum inside the former 14th century fortification. The number 22 belonged to the writer's Franz Kafka sister, who used this house to write his texts for about two years. We will then go down to the «Little Quarter» (Mala Strana), one of the oldest historical districts in Prague, and walk to the picturesque Gothic Charles Bridge, a landmark of the city. After the end of the tour, we will have free time. For the evening we recommend you to watch a «Black Theater» performance, opera etc, after all you are in the city where the idea of the Black Theater was born!3
3rd Day
Prague (free day) – Excursion to Dresden (optional)
Breakfast at the hotel. Today the day is free. You can tour the city, go shopping or take the opportunity to see the city that is the cultural capital of Germany. The first impression one has when arriving in the city can be summed up in one word: «awe». Especially if the weather is sufficiently gloomy, the sensation caused by the sight of this Dresden is enough to immediately magnetize the visitor and wrap him in its magic. On the Theaterpatz, the central square, stands the Semperoper. In the Zwinger, a multi-museum with works by Raphael, there are also paintings by Giorgione, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Rubens and even one by El Greco. You will admire the porcelain fresco of all the rulers of Saxony, including Augustus the Great. The large church in the square is the so-called Frauenkirche (Frauen = women), which was and is the symbol of the city. The bridge of Augustus is worth the walk as far as the monument to the Golden Knight. In the afternoon we return to Prague. Evening free. Food or drink on the watch. 4th Day
Prague (free day) – Excursion to Cesky Krumlov (optional)
After breakfast, we will optionally depart for the second most beautiful city after Prague, «Cesky Krumlov». Streams of the river Vltava run in many parts of this medieval city which, like Prague, is on the Unesco list of protected cities. It is a cultural gem with its particularly well-preserved Gothic and Renaissance style buildings, churches and narrow streets. The walls of Krumlov enclose treasures of special architectural and cultural value such as the “hidden bridge”. Visit the city's castle and admire the panoramic view from above. Return to Prague and free time. (cost of optional excursion: 65 € per person).5
5th Day
Prague – Karlovy Vary – Athens
After breakfast we will depart from Prague with destination to visit the well-known spa-town of Karlovy Vary in West Bohemia, known for its thermal springs. In the 14th century it was named «Royal City» by Emperor Charles the 4th, and since then it has been established as a meeting place for personalities of letters, arts and politics. Crossing the central pedestrian street next to the Tepla River, we understand why Goethe, Schiller, Beethoven, Bach, the Tsar of Russia, etc. walked the same path. Free time. In the evening, filled with memories, we return to the airport for the return flight.Tour Location
