1

1st Day

Athens – Rovaniemi

Meeting at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport and flight to Rovaniemi. Upon arrival in the capital of Finnish Lapland, transfer to a restaurant for lunch. Check-in at the hotel, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

2nd Day

Rovaniemi – Santa Claus Village – Snowman World – Santa Park

Breakfast and immediately afterwards we will depart for the fairy-tale village of Santa Claus, right above the “imaginary” Arctic Circle, where we will have the opportunity to talk to him, take photos and perhaps express a wish to him! The first stop for everyone is, naturally, Santa’s «Office», where a group of cheerful elves welcomes visitors and invites them inside for a quick chat and a photo with Father Christmas. Equally popular is «Santa Claus’s Post Office», where his little helpers read Christmas requests from millions of children around the world. Even if you left your childhood behind decades ago, you’ll find it hard to resist the temptation to send friends a Christmas card bearing the authentic Santa Claus postmark! At the post office, you will also find a wide variety of Christmas souvenirs, all featuring of course a Santa Claus theme. Those interested can also visit Santa Park, a Christmas-themed amusement park that makes for a wonderful option for our younger travelers! Visit Snowman World to admire the unique ice and snow sculptures and enjoy a range of activities, such as ice skating, a snowboarding lesson, snow sculpting, and ice slides. Have lunch at the one-of-a-kind Ice Restaurant, located right on the Arctic Circle and next to Santa Claus. Transfer to the hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay in Rovaniemi.

3rd Day

Rovaniemi – Arktikum Museum – Levi

Breakfast at the hotel, check-out, and transfer to the Arktikum Museum. This center for Arctic history features exhibits that introduce us to the history, culture, and way of life of the Sami people and the Arctic region as a whole. Later, we will travel to Levi, stopping for lunch along the way. Upon arrival in Levi, we will check into our rooms. Although Levi is actually the name of the hill, the village itself is called Sirkka. However, the name Levi has become the standard term for the entire area. In recent years, this ski resort has developed significantly, earning a reputation as one of Finland's top and most popular destinations. It hosts major events, competitions, and ski demonstrations (particularly during the holiday season) and boasts numerous nightclubs, excellent restaurants, and beautiful hotels, all situated within a compact area where everything is within easy reach. The activity for which Levi is renowned, skiing, takes place on the hill's famous, state-of-the-art slopes, which are served by a variety of ski lifts. Dinner at the hotel restaurant and overnight stay.

4th Day

Levi – Snowmobile Safari – Huskies Farm – Spa

Breakfast at the hotel and today we wear special equipment and, following the instructions of the local leaders, we will participate in an exciting snowmobile safari. In Lapland, the long snowy season and the natural terrain make this sport irresistible! We will follow a route through areas of wild natural beauty, forests, and frozen lakes, traversing rugged snowy expanses and frozen rivers. Next, we arrive at the husky farm. Magnificent and adorable Siberian and Canadian huskies await us eagerly; at the farm, we will have the opportunity to hear stories from their caretakers. Afterward, we will drive the sleds, having first received safety instructions in English from expert guides. The sled ride, a traditional mode of transport originating in Siberia will be an unforgettable experience for us all. We will enjoy a light meal with coffee, tea, or hot juice around the campfire. Return to the hotel. In the afternoon, we will relax at the Levi Spa, enjoying the sauna, swimming, a workout, or the hammam. Departure from the hotel and transfer to a traditional Lappish restaurant situated on the banks of the Ounasjoki River, 8 kilometers from the center of Levi, deep within the snowy Lappish landscape. Upon arrival, we will be greeted with a welcome drink! Santa Claus will arrive on his sleigh, accompanied by his faithful reindeer, to distribute gifts to the children; guests of all ages will have the chance to take photos with him, followed by a sumptuous festive buffet dinner. This New Year's Eve will remain a cherished memory for everyone for a long time to come. Overnight stay.

5th Day

Levi – SnowVillage – Reindeer Farm

Festive breakfast at the hotel and departure for the reindeer farm, where we will pet and feed Santa Claus' beautiful four-legged friends and have the pleasure of riding a reindeer sleigh through the forest. We will enjoy a “picnic” meal around the campfire with coffee, tea or hot juice. Immediately afterwards, we head to SnowVillage. Every year, towards the end of November, around a thousand truckloads of snow and ice are transported to build the village, which features a unique design and layout each time. It covers an area of approximately 7,500 square kilometers with restaurants, bars, a hotel, a lobby, various buildings and sculptures, all made only of snow and ice. Return to the hotel, buffet dinner at the hotel restaurant and overnight stay.

6th Day

Levi – Rovaniemi – Athens

Today, the last day of our trip, we bid farewell to Finland. After breakfast at our hotel, we depart for Rovaniemi Airport to catch our return flight to Athens.

Optional Excursions

  • Evening excursion to the Northern Lights: The Northern Lights can be seen in Finnish Lapland. Our position in the Arctic Circle gives us the best chance of seeing it. Our guide will take you out of town to get to the best spots to enjoy a Finnish picnic under the lights of the North Lights. Duration: 3 hours. Includes: Bus transportation, excursion meal with sausages, sweets, hot drinks and informations about Northern Lights from the local guide. Price: 100 € adult / 70 € for children from 4 to 14 years.
 

Notes

  • Every person driving a snowmobile must be over 18 years old and have a valid driving license with him.
  • Each participant in the snowmobile safari will be given the necessary clothing and equipment including: Overalls, boots, wool socks, gloves, scarf, fullface and helmet.
  • Children up to 12 years of age sit on a sled pulling the snowmobile driven by a local escort for safety reasons.
  • For younger children it is recommended that one parent sit with the child on the sled for their comfort and safety.
  • Children over 12 years of age and over 140 cm high can sit behind their parents in a snowmobile while paying the price of an adult.
  • Due to local weather conditions, the program schedule may be altered if deemed necessary to better serve the group.
  • The triple rooms are double rooms with the addition of an extra bed.
  • Passport or new type ID is necessary for all excursions in Europe.
  • Children up to 12 years old are travelling only with passport.
