Aegina. A classic solution for a last minute weekend for Athenians or for a low budget trip (even a day trip), is just 35 minutes away by flying dolphin from Piraeus. No matter how picturesque the walk is on the waterfront with the carriages, the neoclassical buildings, the floating grocery stores, the cafes and the taverns around the fish market, don’t just dwell only for it. Take a look at the lesser-known imposing public buildings of the Kapodistrian era (such as the Government). The inland is rich in archeological and religious attractions and beautiful landscapes – from the pine-covered route up to the classic beach of Agia Marina until the most «Cycladic» route that connects the port with the village of Anitsaio and the port of Portes with the fishing boats. If you stay more than a day, a means of transport is necessary in order to explore the island. The pedal fans take with you your bicycle or rent one – the beach is suitable for cycling.
