MILOS

Milos is a volcanic Greek island in the Aegean Sea. is known for its fantastic and diverse beaches, its impressive and wild nature, as well as its beautiful Chora, called Plakes overlooking Adamas Bay and the open sea. Thanks to its strategic location between mainland Epirus Greece and Crete and, above all, thanks to its mineral wealth and the mining of the obsidian, Milos was one of the first islands of the Aegean that prosper and began to create a significant culture. Milos is a place of worship of the goddess Aphrodite, one of the statues of “Aphrodite of Milos” is located in the Louvre Museum. The capital of the island, Adamantas is known for its caves and underground galleries. Other famous places are: Kleftiko, and the Cave of Sikia, where access is possible only by boat. It has no forests, no rich vegetation, running waters and rivers, but it has many beautiful beaches, more than 75 in number, with sandy beaches and clear blue waters, with the unique white, red, yellow or black rocks that are not found anywhere else in the rest of Greece. Meet the most exotic island of the Aegean. The island where the Aphrodite of Milos was discovered. Volcanic rocks dye the rocks on the beaches red, pink, orange! Sarakiniko and Kleftiko with white rocks, green waters and caves tell stories about pirates. The catacombs, the exotic beaches, the colorful climate, Ebourios and Mandrakia with the ca ve buildings for the boats, the sunset at Plaka, all here yell: Milos is unique.

AMORGOS

Amorgos is a Cycladic island in the Aegean Sea. It was named after the Amorgos plant, a kind of flax from which the Amorgos tunics were made. It is located at the southeast end of the Cyclades, southeast of Naxos and 136 nautical miles from Piraeus. Its surface is estimated at 121,464 km² and has a coastline of 126 kilometers. Since the end of the 4th millennium BC there have been traces of human presence in Amorgos. In ancient times, Amorgos becomes one of the most important centers of Cycladic civilization. It is located in the center of the South Aegean Sea and its shores are sandy and extremely beautiful. The steep cliffs formed end up in the sea, giving a unique spectacle. The purity of its coasts and the deep blue of the sea enchant you. In the mountain of Prophet Elias, and on its steep sides, the monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa is built. From there you can see many islands like Naxos, Ikaria, Astypalaia, Ios, Crete. Beautiful places are Chora, Katapola, Tholaria, and Aegiali. Amorgos: From this island of the Cyclades all went: pirates and travelers of the 19th century, hippies of the 70s who lived in Lakki, islanders who were asking for orations from the “talking water” of Agios Giorgios Varsamitis. You will also discover a Greek island untouched by mass tourism, where ancient customs, old footpaths and authentic villages are still preserved. On the beach of Agia Anna you will see the scene from the Besson’s “The Big Blue”. At Panagia Hozoviotissa you will feel the power of faith. Holidays with roasted raki and hot rakomelo in the cafes, a boat trip from Katapola-Aegiali, strolls through the country with the castle and its tiny Cycladic alleys. When you arrive in Amorgos, you will find out how diverse, wild and fascinating this island is.

SANTORINI

Santorini, an island that will unleash your senses. An explosion of charm. This island of Cyclades will give you moments of mythology. An island with strong contrasts. The black earth with the whitewashed Caldera villages. The wild volcanic sculptures with the simple Cycladic lines. Welcome to the Aegean Sea, one of the most popular destinations in Greece. Santorini, Thira or Stroggili (former name) is an island located in the southern Aegean Sea, the Cycladic islands, south of Ios and west of Anafi. There are 128 nautical miles from Piraeus. Its area is 76.19 square kilometers. Today Santorini is one of the most famous tourist centers in the world. She is known for her volcano. The last volcanic activity was the year 1950. Santorini’s special physiognomy contributes to an extremely important archaeological richness: the Ancient City and the Prehistoric settlement of Akrotiri. Santorini also has a unique heritage of traditional folk architecture and sophisticated fortification settlements. The climate of the island is cool due to the northeast winds and the winter is sweet and mild with an average temperature of 10oC. Rains are frequent in the winter and almost non-existent in the summer. The soil is fertile and favors the cultivation of vineyards and tomatoes. Today Santorini numbers 7,000 permanent residents scattered in about 10 villages. Fira is the capital of the island and Oia, one of its most beautiful villages known all over the world for its impressive and enchanting sunset. Its “black” beaches, with steep slopes and volcanic rocks give the island a special figure.

RECOMMENDED OPTIONAL SEA EXCURSIONS IN MILOS

Island tour

  • Starting from the picturesque village of Adama at the north side of the island, will sail towards the west and soon will reach the “Blue Waters” location in Polyegos island, a top yachting destination with chrystal turquoise waters and astonishing geological formations. Next stop will be the Sulphur Mines, the ghost town of Milos, where the landscape changes from white in Polyegos to red and yellow. The Sulphur factory poses for some unique pictures. Gerakas is the next breathtaking location of this trip. White thin sand and Chrystal –clear waters do not allow you to come out of the sea, but you must, because Kleftiko is next. The landmark of Milos, a sculpture of the sea and wind the famous pirate hideout. Whatever you have read or heard about Kleftiko has been an understatement, you have to witness it. The stop allows time for snorkeling in the wide complex of caves and passages. Our sailing boat will then start sailing along the east coast of Milos, passing by the Cave of Sykia, reaching the North-East corner of the island-Cape Vani, the location of the old manganese mines, where the colors are now back to red and black! Across from Care Vani we will witness the “Bear” formation, guardian of the entrance of the port of Milos. We continue sailing by the north coast, with a final stop for a memorable snorkeling experience by the rocks of Glaronisia. Volcanic basalt rods emerge from the sea, demonstrating another very interesting geological phenomenon. With the sun on our back probably starting to set the sea, we return to the port of Adama.

Daily departures from Adama at 09:00 am and return at 19:00 pm.

Prices for summer 2019:

  • Adults: 90 € per person (included meal, lunch, snacks and drinks).

One-day sailing excursion at Kleftiko

  • Our sailing boat will depart from Adamas, heading west. A few minutes later she will pass by the village of Klima, the most traditional fishing village in the Cyclades, featured in the trailer of the Olympic Games Athens 2004. Next, the sleepless “Arkoudes” (rock formations protruding from the water that resemble bears) will catch our attention, guarding the entrance of the port. She will cruise across the port entrance heading south, and pass by Cape Vani, an extraordinary rock formation! Protruding rocks lay on the cape next to the old manganese mines, operating between 1890 and 1920. The remains of the old loading bays are still visible. Now the boat will head south making one stop for a refreshing swim at one of the beaches of the west, (Kalogries or Agathia), depending on the weather conditions and the presence of other private yachts at each beach. The entrance of the famous Sykia sea cave will appear at the very south-west corner of the island. The boat will stop at Sykia cave and passengers will have a chance to take photos and admire this impressive geological site. Next stop is Kleftiko. A unique volcanic landscape, this is the landmark of Milos. Kleftiko had been a pirate hideout for about a thousand years. The water is crystal clear and there’s a complex of many caves and underwater passages stretching to three different bays. There the passengers will go on a snorkeling safari. Snorkeling equipment is available to use, necessary for us to have a unique snorkeling experience around Kleftiko’s caves and underwater passages. Available for the group is a go-pro underwater camera so they can capture their own pictures and videos (which are available for downloading the same evening after their return). Once the swimming is done and before lunch, the captain will make a cave tour with the yacht’s rib boat, since Kleftiko has so many caves that it is impossible to explore simply by swimming around. Between swimming and all the activities, lunch is also served on board (salad, main, drinks, wine, soft-drinks available). Coffee, drinks, and cookies will be available throughout the trip, free of charge. The trip will approximately at 19:00 and there will be transfer provided for visitors to get back to Adamas and the starting point of the tour.Transfer service is not included in the rate. The schedule can be altered based on prevailing weather conditions and/or boat traffic at the visiting locations.
