ISRAEL

The term Holy Land refers to the areas of Palestine today and of Israel that have historical and religious value primarily for Christianity, but also for Judaism and Islamism. The most important of these are the Holy Sepulcher and Calvary in Jerusalem, the Cave and the Manger at the Nativity Basilica in Bethlehem, the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem where our Lord was ascended, Gethsemane also in Jerusalem where the Assumption of Virgin Mary happened, Bethany where Lazarus was resurrected, Nazareth where the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary happened, Mount Tabor, Cana, the Jordan River and other cities and locations. The Holy Land is not just a place of pilgrimage. It is a crossroads of peoples, cultures and religions that travelers must enjoy and experience with all their souls. This trip has all the elements of search.

After our breakfast, we will begin our tour of the Old City of Jerusalem. Our first stop is the Holy Church of the Resurrection, inside which encompasses the most sacred pilgrimages of Christianity: the Fearful Golgotha, the Holy Sepulcher, the Stone Burial slab of Jesus, the Finding Point of the Holy Cross, the Catholic Church and other chapels related to the Passion and Resurrection of Christ. Next we will walk to the Path of Suffering and we will reach Praetorium, where Jesus was imprisoned and judged, at the Pool of Bethesda, and the house of Joachim and Anne where Virgin Mary was born. Our next stop in the Blood Field, or Kerameos, the place where, according to the evangelical narration, after the return of the thirty silver coins from Judas Iscariot to the Jewish high priests, the Jewish high priests, in order not to put them back to the treasury, as they were already used as betrayal blood money, they bought with these money the field of ceramics to bury strangers there. There, we will visit the Holy Monastery of Saint Onoufrios, one of the largest ascetic figures. This monastery is located outside the walls of Jerusalem and really looks like a little heavenly paradise. Tradition from the sixth century indicates that there were fig trees in this place and one of them was where Judas Iscariot was hanged. In this monastery there is a small cave that is traditionally reported to have been passed and used by Saint Onoufrios as its hermitage before leaving for the desert of Egypt. In the same place is the place where they saw the Prophet Isaiah as well as his tomb. There is also the tomb of the Holy Patriarch of Jerusalem (442-458 AD). In the central temple of the monastery, which is a cave, another tradition states that the apostles and disciples of Christ had been hidden after His crucifixion. Free time for rest, meal on your own expence, shopping. In the afternoon, passing by the Roman Cardo, we will go to the Wailing Wall. Transfer to our hotel, dinner & overnight.
