Atop Morne Fortune (Hill of Good Luck) - where the French and English battled over control of the island - visitors take in panoramic vistas.

Shopping is plentiful in Bridgetown. The capital of Barbados offers duty-free shopping at cruise ship terminals and upscale boutiques on Broad Street. For history, visit the Barbados Museum, National Heroes Square (formerly Trafalgar Square) and the oldest Jewish synagogue in the western hemisphere, as well as the house where George Washington stayed and the church he attended.
